Despite a country wide pandemic lock-down, Dolphin Mobility Yorkshire and Cumbria has appointed former MediTek and Bespoke Stairlifts sales manager, David Dodsworth, as its new business development manager. Speaking of the news, Dolphin managing director, Gareth Watkinson, said: “Despite recent disruptions due to Covid-19 we had been experiencing steady growth and it came to the stage we needed a full time representative in the area to enable us to consolidate existing contracts and increase the private market share.” And of why David Dodsworth: “I have known David for a number of years when he was a sales manager for stairlift manufactures MediTek and later Bespoke. He has an excellent understanding of the stairlift market and what is required by users and local authorities alike. This, along with his exceptionally high professional standards and strong work ethic made him the ideal choice and we are grateful he has decided to join us.” David explained why he chose to move to Dolphin Mobility: “There are a number of reasons I decided to apply for this new role at Dolphin, the location of Yorkshire and Cumbria being one of them. Principally though, I was looking for a new challenge and wanted to work in the dealer and retailer side of the industry. I first entered the homecare industry in 2014 after many years in financial services, IT and telecoms sales. Initially, as a sales surveyor for MediTek. I liked MediTek, but found it difficult when the then managing director, Kevin Strafford-Price, would not communicate with me and when I brought this to his attention quipped ‘I’ll take that as your resignation then?’ After being approached by Bespoke stairlifts I did just that. Working with stairlift manufacturers meant I was familiar with the Dolphin Mobility group of companies and have always liked and respected their standards and work ethic in that they always look to ensure the right product for the user’s personal circumstances and budgets is the primary focus, because if done properly will ensure best value for money for all is achieved. This new role is perfect for me as it consists of what I like to do best, but also offers some new challenges in looking to grow the public and private sector business and build upon the very strong foundation I have inherited.”
